Chalks Pastels and Dullcote

Postby bobthebear » Mon Feb 02, 2009 11:03 am

I haven't got an airbrush so I use chalks and pastels combined with Testors Dullcote to create effects.

Hi Bob,
As you have proven you don't need an airbrush to produce good weathering effects. Have you or anybody else for that matter tried Bragdon Powders as I was thinking of getting some?

Cheers,
Alan.

Hi Alan, thanks for the comment. Name doesn't ring a bell, although I did get some powders, I think 6 small packs in a bigger bag, but cannot remember the name. They work well. I think the loco was mainly those.
Cheers, Bob.

Bob,

Nice weathering, especially on the 2-8-0. The running gear looks great. I use air brushing and chalks in equal measure, but you can't beat the texture of chalks.
